Air Hostess Accuses Bihar Politician's Sons Of Confining Her With Intention Of Sexual Assault

A 24-year-old woman has alleged that BJP MLC Awadesh Narayan Singh¡¯s two sons - Sushant Ranjan and Prashant Ranjan had held her captive inside a room at their father¡¯s government bungalow and thrashed her with intent of sexual assault.

The victim, reported to be working with a private airline operator as an air hostess, submitted a written application in connection with the incident on Friday evening with women¡¯s police station of the Patna police.

Police sources said the complainant, in her written complaint, said that the incident took place on May 16.

¡°She was invited by Singh¡¯s elder son Sushant. The victim would be taken to Singh¡¯s official bungalow for identification of place,¡± a senior police officer said on condition of anonymity.

Quoting the woman's complaint, he said she was locked inside a room by Sushant and Prashant after which they trashed and abused her.

Police said she was in Patna for last several weeks as her mother was not keeping well.

¡°The victim and Sushant knew each other from earlier,¡± he said adding investigation were on to know the terms between victim and Prashant.

He said the victim had alleged the duo also attempted to kill her inside the room.

When asked, city SP (central) D Amarkesh said the victim has also alleged she was made captive with intent of sexual assault.

¡°Investigation were going on in connection with the incident,¡± he said.

He also said FIR could not be lodged immediately on Friday as the victim had overwritten few words on the complaint. ¡°She was called again on Saturday to submit a fresh complaint on basis of which FIR would be lodged,¡± he added.

Meanwhile, MLC Singh, when asked, told TOI that he reached Patna from Delhi on Saturday morning and was shocked to know about news circulating in the media.

¡°At present, I can only say that the woman had studied with my son. The matter was exaggerated. Nothing such happened,¡± he said adding he would also quiz both his sons over the issue.

¡°I had also sent my son-in-law to meet the woman but nothing similar to media reports surfaced,¡± he said and added he had always worked hard to keep his image clean.
