According to The News Minute report as per a report in News18, one of those involved was also a farmer. He handled the cultivation, while everyone else did their bit.
¡°We had a few mini lorries that we had caught for sand and soil smuggling. Three months ago, we decided to cultivate vegetables in them. It was a successful attempt ¨C we got our first harvest last week. We gave the vegetables to our police canteen,¡± said Simpson PT, a civil police officer while speaking to The News Minute.
All kinds of modes of transport were used. They began by planting ladyfinger, spinach and long beans.
Vehicles which would just rust uselessly, are now being used for a good cause.
It got a lot of praise on the internet and deservedly so.
Police officers are only human and one understands why they would want to do something like this.
