Farmers Protest: Avoid These Roads As Traffic Moves '1 Km In 1 Hour' In Delhi-NCR
In a bid to mitigate traffic congestion, authorities have imposed a ban on goods-carrying vehicles from entering Delhi via the Greater Noida Expressway. This measure aims to alleviate the pressure on key entry points into the capital.
Key border points linking the national capital with its neighboring towns are experiencing severe congestion and diversions due to police barricading owing to farmers' protest.
Roads to avoid due to huge traffic jams
Highways at Ghazipur and Chilla borders, connecting Delhi with Ghaziabad and Noida in Uttar Pradesh, are witnessing long queues of vehicles. There is a traffic jam on the DND flyover. Notably, this flyover also connects Noida with South Delhi. According to latest reports, traffic is moving slow on NH-48, which connects Delhi and Gurugram.

Meanwhile, traffic jams were also reported at the Ghaziabad, Kaushambi, and Anand Vihar borders, adding to the challenges faced by commuters navigating through the affected areas.
A commuter stranded on the DND flyover shared his plight, stating that he had covered "only a kilometer in over an hour". Describing the situation, he mentioned the stagnant traffic and the absence of viable u-turn options, exacerbating the gridlock.
"The UP Police and Delhi Police are constantly monitoring the situation at the Delhi-Noida border. Due to this, the traffic has been slightly affected. However, the traffic is normal inside the city (Noida), and the situation is normal," said Anil Kumar Yadav, DCP (traffic), Noida Police.

Alternate routes to take as traffic comes to a standstill
Vehicles bound for Delhi via Chilla Border can opt for the 14A flyover, leading them to Golchakkar Chowk Sector 15. From there, they can continue on to Sandip Paper Mill Chowk, then Jhundpura Chowk, and finally proceed to their intended destination.
For those heading towards Delhi via DND Border, it is recommended to utilise the Filmcity flyover, directing them towards sector 18. They can then proceed further to reach their desired destination.
Travelers destined for Delhi via Kalindi Border are advised to take the Mahamaya flyover, guiding them to sector 37, from where they can continue their journey.
Those traveling to Delhi via Yamuna Expressway are suggested to head towards Khurja from Jewar toll, and then proceed onward through Jahangirpur.
If traveling to Delhi via Peripheral Expressway to Sirsa, Parichowk, an alternative route is to divert towards Dadri, Dasna to reach their destination.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards designated secure destinations despite the traffic diversions.
