In a tragic incident, an area manager of Bajaj Finance in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi has died by suicide, allegedly due to work pressure and harassment by seniors to meet targets. Tarun Saxena was found dead inside his house, while his wife and two children were locked in another room.
'Meet targets or quit'
According to the family, the 42-year-old was under immense pressure to meet targets, failing which he was threatened with the loss of his job.
A suicide note was also recovered from him in which he alleged that he was given a higher target by seniors, and pressure was continuously being mounted on him to achieve the said target, Superintendent of Police (City) Gyanendra Kumar Singh said.

In the note he left behind, Saxena blamed work pressure and mental torture by his seniors for his death.

'Recover loans or pay form your salary'
A relative of the deceased alleged that Saxena, who was responsible for the recovery of loans given out by Bajaj Finance, was being pressured to meet a 100 per cent recovery target.
"He was told that in case of non-fulfilment of the target, he would have to pay from his own pocket. He was assigned areas like Moth and Talbehat for collection, which are rural areas," the relative, Gaurav Saxena, said.
'Harassed by managers during meeting'
According to him, hours before his death, Tarun was harassed by his seniors in a virtual meeting for failing to meet the 100 per cent recovery target.
"In the morning, he was mentally tortured by his regional manager Prabhakar Mishra and national manager Vaibhav Saxena. Abuses were also hurled at him during a conference, which was held virtually. He was quite frustrated since that (Saturday) night, following which he took the extreme step (on Sunday)," Gaurav said.

Sadaf Fatima, who was working as the additional deputy vice-president at HDFC Bank¡¯s Vibhuti Khand branch in Gomti Nagar, died after she fell off her chair inside the bank premises.
