The recent incident follows a string of regulatory actions against IndiGo airline by aviation authorities, including the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), in response to numerous flight delays leading to significant disruptions.
IndiGo gained notoriety when a video depicting passengers seated on the tarmac of Mumbai airport, dining amid delays, went viral on social media. Consequently, the civil aviation ministry levied substantial fines of ?1.20 crore and ?90 lakh on IndiGo airline and Mumbai Airport, respectively.
Dense fog affects visibility

The airline urged passengers to monitor their flight status before heading to the airport.
For the third consecutive day, the national capital found itself shrouded in a thick blanket of dense fog, significantly reducing visibility and disrupting flight services. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported zero visibility at the Delhi airport in the morning, exacerbating travel woes for commuters and airline passengers alike.
The IGI airport also issued an advisory for passengers saying, ¡°While landing and takeoffs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.¡±
