Cockroaches and in the food area of a plane (anywhere for that matter) are just truly awful.

Shukla expressed his concern, saying, "Cockroaches in the food area of a plane (or anywhere, for that matter) are truly awful. One hopes IndiGo takes a hard look at its fleet and checks how this even happened, given that it normally flies relatively new Airbus A320s."
IndiGo's response to cockroach incident
In response to the alarming footage, IndiGo responded promptly by acknowledging the issue and committing to immediate action.
Users criticized the airline on Shukla's post. One expressed dissatisfaction with international flights, and another questioned the airline's overall decline in quality.
However, a supportive voice chimed in, praising IndiGo for its quick problem-solving approach. "See, that's what I like about Indigo. Problems that are beyond control can happen with anyone but in all my journeys with Indigo, if there's an issue, they've always made it a point to quickly solve it too. To be honest that's all that matters also," they wrote.
Concerning incidents in IndiGo flights
This isn't the first instance where IndiGo has faced such concerning issues.
In February 2024, a passenger on an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Chennai claimed to have found a screw in their sandwich.
The passenger, identified as @MacaroonIll3601 on Reddit, shared photos of the sandwich, expressing dissatisfaction with the airline's response, alleging that IndiGo dismissed the complaint, citing post-flight consumption.
Last April, a passenger recorded a video of a cockroach crawling on their tray table while they were having a meal on an IndiGo flight. Likewise, in October 2022, another passenger reported seeing a cockroach during a flight from Patna to Delhi, which raised concerns about the airline's pest control procedures.
