The 'New Air India' Is Here, See The Pictures Of Tata Group's First Airbus A350

Air India, which is on a modernising path under its new ownership of the Tata Group has shared given a sneak peek at the airline's upcoming Airbus A350 aircraft fleet, which is set to debut this winter.

New crew uniform, logo for Air India

Recently it was reported that the Air India crew might soon be sporting new uniforms that will be designed by Manish Malhotra.

In August, Air India under the Tata Group had unveiled its new logo which signifies limitless possibilities.

Air India¡¯s new logo symbol - ¡®The Vista¡¯ - includes a modern design with golden, red and purple colours, the company had said.

It will replace the old logo of a red swan and orange spokes inside the swan, inspired by the Ashoka Chakra.

"It is inspired by the peak of the gold window frame, signifying limitless possibilities, progressiveness, and the airline¡¯s bold, confident outlook for the future," the company had said.

What is Air India's current fleet

Currently, Air India has a fleet of 116 planes, including 49 wide body aircraft.

This includes 27 B787-8s, 14 B777-300s, 8 B777-200LRs, 14 A319s, 36 A320 neos, 13 A321 neos and 4 A321 neos.

When will Air India's first Airbus A350 fly

The first of Air India¡¯s six Airbus A350-900 is expected to arrive in the country by the end of this year, with the remaining one scheduled for deliveries through March 2024.

The A350-900 is also the first widebody aircraft to have been leased through India¡¯s first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

The Airbus A350 aircraft is known for its fuel efficiency, spacious cabins, and advanced technology.

How Air India is expanding its fleet

In addition to the six Airbus A350-900 aircraft, Air India¡¯s orders for 470 new aircraft include 34 A350-1000, 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 10 Boeing 777X widebody aircraft, as well as 140 Airbus A320neo, 70 Airbus A321neo and 190 Boeing 737MAX narrowbody aircraft.

Air India had signed purchase agreements to acquire these aircraft with Airbus and Boeing on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show held in June this year.

Consolidation of airline business

Apart from the redesigning, the Tata Group is also consolidating its airline business wherein AIX Connect is in the process of getting merged with Air India Express while Vistara is merging with Air India.

Tata Group holds a 51 per cent stake in Vistara and the rest is with Singapore Airlines.
