What Kavita is doing is called flair bartending, a captivating art where bartenders entertain by manipulating bar tools like cocktail shakers and liquor bottles in dazzling ways. This can involve juggling, flipping, and spinning objects to showcase skill and dexterity, adding a performance element to cocktail crafting.
Kavita was introduced to flair bartending by her relative, Raj Medar, right after she completed her B.Com.
Intrigued by the craft, she moved to Pune and enrolled at the Flair Mania Bartending Academy, as reported by The Cocktail Story.
"I used to wake up at 5 am and practice for 8-9 hours daily. Of course, practicing with glass bottles and metal shakers means injury, but I persevered through them," she shared with the platform.
Her dedication paid off in 2020 when she set a world record for the fastest female flair bartender.
Her name was entered into the World Book of Records, London, after she performed over 110 flips of two bottles while juggling in just one minute.
Fast forward to today, years after she began learning flair bartending, and she is now a pro. Her journey from novice to expert is truly inspiring!
