However, what sets him apart is his unusual expertise 每 he is a seasoned thief with over 60 years of experience!
From presiding in the judge's chair and issuing verdicts for two months to successfully stealing over a thousand cars, Mittal is undoubtedly a seasoned professional in the world of theft.
In the latest development, Mittal gained attention following his apprehension in Delhi's Paschim Vihar on February 20. He was caught in the act of trying to sell a stolen Maruti Esteem car to a scrap dealer, the same vehicle he had taken from Shalimar Bagh.
Held judge's seat & granted bailed to over 2000 criminals
Dhani Ram's remarkable achievement lies in his ability to discreetly occupy the judge's seat and issue verdicts for a continuous two-month period without anyone discovering his ruse.
Through the creation of forged documents, he managed to compel the Additional Special Judge of Jhajjar Court in Haryana to take a leave of absence, assuming the judicial role himself.
During this time, it is reported that he granted bail to over 2000 criminals but also sentenced many others to imprisonment with his decisions. However, when the deception was eventually exposed, he had already made his escape.
The first time he secured a work with forged documents goes way back, between 1968 and 74 when he had first worked as a station master on forged documents.
Astonishing criminal record
Known as 'Super Natwarlal' and the 'Indian Charles Sobhraj' in police records, he first began his 'theft' profession at the age of 25.
Mittal has built an astonishing criminal record, marked by an unprecedented number of arrests and the pilfering of more than 1000 cars.
His method typically involved brazen daylight car thefts, primarily focusing on areas in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and nearby regions.
As per the police, Mittal was implicated in incidents across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, and Punjab. He faced arrests in cases related to the NDPS Act, Arms Act, Gambling Act, and the Excise Act. Authorities mentioned that Mittal had also been charged with offenses such as escaping from police custody, impersonation, and cheating.
