Jake Dryan, a UK-based chef known for his Indian cuisine, recently surprised his followers with a new culinary creation.
On Wednesday, he posted a video on Instagram showcasing a Maharashtra-inspired spread he prepared for his girlfriend's flatmate.

The video opens with the text, "POV: Your girlfriend's flatmate has been asking to try your Indian food."
It starts with Jake preparing thecha, a spicy Maharashtrian dip. He begins by heating oil in a pan, then adding cumin seeds, garlic cloves, green chilies, and peanuts, cooking them until fragrant before blending them into a smooth paste.

Next, Jake makes batata vada. He peels, cuts, and boils potatoes, then cooks them with garlic, green chilies, turmeric, curry leaves, and the boiled potatoes themselves. After mashing and mixing the ingredients, he forms balls from the mixture, dips them in a chickpea batter, and deep fries them to perfection.

Moving on, Jake chops green beans for a flavourful sabzi. He prepares a tadka with onions and spices, which he then mixes with the chopped beans.

He also boils red masoor dal, and in another pan, he heats ghee and adds chopped garlic, a red chili, and chopped tomatoes, which he combines with the dal. A final tadka of cumin and red chili powder is poured over the dal to complete the dish.
Jake also made besan chillas and a fresh salad, capping off the meal with the caption, "Made a little Maharashtra-inspired spread for a friend."
The video quickly garnered attention from Indian viewers, who flocked to the comments section with enthusiastic praise.
