'Hate Indian migrants, come from low class backgrounds': Woman's views on Indians in Canada sparks outrage
Megha's recent social media post condemns Indian migrants in Canada, attributing a decline in reputation to newcomers she deems less educated and civic-minded. Her controversial views have sparked widespread debate and criticism.
In a bold and controversial statement that has ignited widespread debate, a woman has publicly criticised Indian migrants in Canada, sparking intense reactions and conversations across social media.
Her views have put a spotlight on the complex and often contentious dynamics between immigrant communities and their host countries, raising questions about integration, identity, and the social fabric of multicultural societies.
Recently, social media user Megha stirred controversy by expressing her strong disdain for Indian migrants in Canada.
In her provocative post on X, Megha wrote, "My parents and entire family HATE the Indian migrants filling up Canada¡ªprobably more than the migrants themselves because of how thoroughly they've damaged our reputation."

She also outlined the reasons behind her negative sentiments, stating, "Indian immigrants who were educated came largely from nice families, from the city, with manners, English skills and etiquette. These new migrants, defiling the beaches and groping women, come from illiterate, low class backgrounds and have no sense of civic duty nor are they capable of learning. Class systems are real. This is why the strongest right wing force in Canada comes from 80s and 90s Indian immigrants, ironically."

In response, many commenters criticised Megha's perspective as narrow-minded.
Some pointed out the inherent racism in her remarks, with one user commenting, "Indians are the most racist towards each other," while another added, "The whites aren't coming to save you, sweetheart."
Others questioned her assumptions, with one remarking, "Do you think education is exclusive to families from the city?"
Another commenter suggested her views might stem from insecurity about her family's fading privilege, and others accused her of classist and casteist attitudes. "Looks like your parents and the entire family are hardcore casteist -- that's all," one wrote.
Despite the backlash, a few users expressed agreement, questioning changes in immigration policies and the integration of newer migrants.
One person asked, "What changed in the immigration system that allowed uneducated migrants? I thought US and Canada only accepted high-skilled, educated Indians."
Another agreed, stating, "This has become noticeable only in recent years. Immigration is a thorough process, but these new arrivals aren't integrating well."
