'Inedible As Hostel Mess Food' Passenger Blasts Vistara's In-Flight Meal

An Air Vistara passenger has hit out at the poor quality food served on board the Tata group airline, calling it inedible.

Inedible meal: passenger
"Wow! @airvistara your main meal aboard UK820 this evening evoked a sense of nostalgia! That of near inedible meals served in a badly run hostel mess by indifferent cooks! Insipid flavours, the sort of texture that would indicate the chicken should have ideally been consumed hours ago, and the chocolate dessert, benchmarked perhaps to a kindergarten cookery project. Amazing!," he wrote on X.

What Vistar said
Responding to him, Vistara said, "all our meals are prepared keeping the highest standards of quality in mind, and we are disheartened to note of your disappointment."

Highest standard not high enough
The passenger, however, was in no mood to accept the response of Vistara and pointed out the reputation of the Tata Group.
"Well, @airvistara It*s quite apparent that your &highest standards* aren*t high enough to serve a basic satisfactory meal. And btw, I am disheartened too, extremely, given the culinary lineage of your brand. Sad!," he said, with an indirect reference to another Tata Group-owned brand, Taj Hotels.

When Union Minister called out Vistara
This is not the first time the Tata Group's full-service airline has come under fire for its falling standards.
In November, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar had criticized the airline for the lack of on-board hygiene.
The minister also shared an image of discarded water bottles and half-eaten food thrown on the floor inside a Vistara aircraft.
※Nice new clean 787 aircraft and very smooth flight 每 but saddened by service & state of cabin -food & litter not the best way to welcome visitors to India or compete wth other global carriers,§ he wrote on X.
