'Internet Existed During Mahabharata' Claims The CM Of Tripura, & People Have Questions For Him
More than Guinness Book Of World Records, Indians need a Book Of Word Records encompassing all the ridiculous, baseless, pointless, illogical, silly, absurd, irrational things Indian politicians have said.
From cow dung and urine serving as a cure for cancer to having a discussion on Lord Rama's recruitment team who deployed world-class engineers to build the Rama Setu - they've said everything and there's nothing else left to say.
Or is there? Recently, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb came up with the idea that "internet existed in the days of Mahabharata as well."
Taking this to a public gathering, Deb said "India has been using internet for ages. In Mahabharata, Sanjay was blind but he narrated what was happening on the battlefield to Dhritarashtra anyway. This was due to internet and technology. The satellite also existed during that period." reports ET.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big push to digitisation by making it accessible to citizens across the country." he further added.

"Modi has also familiarised the use Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter among people," a proud Deb said while adding PM is more active than ever on social media.
More than what he said, the thing that makes us cringe is that this statement was just thrown around as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"We are an old culture and civilisation and we have been using technology for past several years. This is nothing new to us," said Deb further. Obviously, once he was done giving this speech, the Internet had a good laugh.

Tripura CM Biplab Deb claims Internet, Satellites were first in India since Mahabharata's time. Dhritarastra, Sanjay used Internet in Mahabharata time. Not USA or Western Countries but Biplab Deb claims it's India invented Internet. ? pic.twitter.com/pgv1xw5Nx3

People also had some very valid questions for him:

Now why didn't they live stream the battle? We could've watched on youtube? https://t.co/qXsSpcxxhy

This raises a few questions. Why didn't Abhimanyu ask Quora how to escape the Chakravyuha? Why did Sanjay narrate the Kurukshetra War when Siri could have done it? Also, Krishna really should have streamed the Bhagavad-Gita on Facebook Live. https://t.co/vrauX1UIpZ #Mahabharata

For decades, we have dived into history and speculated the ongoings of the land of our ancestors. For all we know, they might have had the technology we still don't. But we're not so sure that this gentleman thought it through before he let random words tumble out of his mouth.
It's bizarre, to say the least. So, laugh it off and don't spend too much time soaking in this freely-available gyaan.
