Meet Vedant Saini, A 2022 Maths Olympiad Bronze Medalist Who Bagged 26th Rank In JEE Main

Vedant Saini from Chandigarh is one of the 56 candidates who have scored a perfect 100 NTA score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam. According to the results announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA), Saini has also bagged the All India Rank (AIR) of 26, in one of the toughest competitive exams in the country.
Won bronze in 2022 Mathematics Olympiad
A student of Bhavan Vidyalaya in Sector 27, Chandigarh also has a stellar academic record to go with this JEE main rank.
In 2022, Saini represented India in the International Mathematics Olympiad held in Oslo, Norway. He was the youngest member of a six-person team that won the bronze medal.
He was invited to the Parliament House by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in December to be a part of the celebrations on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the first President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad.
Son of doctor parents
Saini comes from a family of doctors -- his father, Dr. Shiv Sajan Saini, an assistant professor at PGIMER and his mother, Dr. Vidushi Mahajan, is as associate professor at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.
Unlike his parents, Saini chose engineering and wishes to pursue computer science at IIT Bombay.
JEE Main results
According to the results announced by the NTA on Wednesday night, 56 candidates achieved 100 NTA score in JEE-Main.
While 23 candidates in the JEE (Main) January session scored 100 NTA score, 33 candidates in the April session achieved it.
The 56 toppers include 40 from the general category, 10 from the OBC category and six from the gen-EWS category. No candidate from the SC and ST categories managed to get 100 NTA score this year.
Candidates' ranks are released taking into consideration the best of the two NTA scores in accordance with the policy already in place.
