JEE Topper Quit IIT-Bombay To Follow His Dream & His Story Is Important For Students Everywhere
Every year, students wait with bated breath for their results - whether it's board exams or IIT-JEE or medical. Every year, they work hard to score enough marks to land in a college of their choosing. But sometimes, the 'enough marks' fall short of their expectations, shattering their dreams.
Parents and counsellors work equally hard at making their wards believe in the power of passion. Students who want to follow a particular line of interest - whether it's music or designing - should be allowed to do so lest they fall victim to a lifetime of misplaced identity.
This is why students everywhere must read this story.

Chitraang Murdia topped All-India JEE (Advanced) in 2014 and took up B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT-Bombay. However, he soon chose to quit and pursue his passion for physics.
In a Humans of India post, he said,
"I realized that 'Computer science is interesting to me, but my passion lies in physics. I wanted to do research, probably in quantum theory'. Don't know how, but I developed my keen interest in Physics and decided to quit IIT. Everybody was shocked by this decision and that included even my friends."
He added,
"I got admission in one of the world most prestigious institution Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and that too with a scholarship. I have seen the students who are good in physics and maths are following the herd to seek admission to courses such as computer science and electrical engineering. It will definitely boost up the moral of those students who wish to pursue their interest in pure science but couldn't do that because of the family pressure or money."

Murdia's story is one of inspiration for students who want to follow their dreams and not the ones other people force them to embrace as their own. While some assistance and help are required from those more experienced, that doesn't mean you have to follow their rule book.
