Legalise Weed To Fight Alcohol Addiction, Suggests BJD MP Tathagata Satpathy!
Lok Sabha MP from Odisha Tathagata Satpathy spoke in the parliament on Thursday. Satpathy pitched for the legalisation of weed and called the ban an elitist move. In March he had claimed that he used to smoke pot while he was young.
The rise in alcohol addiction in India is the result of the ban on cannabis. That is, according to Lok Sabha MP from Odisha Tathagata Satpathy. Speaking in the parliament on Thursday, the Biju Janata Dal MP pitched for the legalisation of weed.

¡°In the villages of my constituency, old people, venerable people used to smoke natural marijuana. Today, by imposing ban on natural substances, which people have been using for ages, from the time of Lord Shiva, we have actually forced a lot of these people to move on to alcohol,¡± Satpathy said.

This is not the first time that Satpathy has batted for legal consumption of marijuana. In March, he had claimed that he used to smoke pot while he was young and called the ban an elitist move.
