Made In India iPhones Just Got Real! Could Hit The Stores As Early As June

The Cupertino-based tech giant has signed will soon be assembling its handsets in the company's Bengaluru unit. According to a Karnataka government release welcoming the Apple's decision, the move, "Will foster cutting edge technology ecosystem and supply chain development in the state, which is critical for India to compete globally."

Taiwanese company Wistron, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of Apple, will make the iPhones out of its facility in Bengaluru's industrial hub of Peenya.
This would be Apple¡¯s second big project for Bengaluru. In May, Apple had announced setting up a design and development accelerator in the city to grow the iOS developer community.
