The complainant's name is Ishan Miya, who hails from Azim Nagar in Rampur.
He claims his wife Rabia Shamsi and her family burst crackers and posted a WhatsApp status celebrating Pakistan¡¯s victory.
¡°An FIR has been registered after a case of making fun of the Indian cricket team came to our notice on the basis of a complaint made by a man,¡± said SP Ankit Mittal.
The FIR has been filed in Ganj Police Station of Rampur district.
It is filed under IPC Section 153-A and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets in their opening game of the T20 World Cup.
This was the first time Pakistan had beaten India in the competition and only their 2nd T20I win over the Men in Blue.
