Hefty Price For Nature's Call! Man Trapped On Vande Bharat After Toilet Break Loses Rs 6,000 In Process

And a Singrauli resident recently had to pay a heavy cost for his urgency to use the toilet.

Series of events

It all began when the man, along with his family, was journeying from Bhopal to Singrauli via the Dakshin Express with a train change in between.

While he and his family stayed on the platform waiting for the connecting train, the man chose to get on to a Vande Bharat train for a toilet break. But this move set the poor man up for a rather expensive experience.

The family, hailing from Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district, had reached Bhopal from Hyderabad aboard the Dakshin Express at about 5:30 pm.

Their next portion of the journey involved getting on the Indore-bound Vande Bharat train, which was stationed on platform number 4.

At this moment, the man saw a modern and appealing Vande Bharat train at one of the platforms and decided to take a fleeting restroom break while his family waited.

Little did he know that he had limited time before the train's departure - a mere 60 seconds.

At roughly 7:25 pm, the automatic doors were shut, which left the man entrapped inside, desperately imploring for the train to stop.

But unfortunately, the man could only exit the train once it halted at the next station - Ujjain - owing to the securely locked doors. He was told by the train staff that the doors would remain shut till 9:30 pm when the train reached the next stop. With no choice left, the man had to stay on the train until then.

Man lost nearly Rs 6,000

Upon stepping out, the man was charged a fine of Rs 1,020 for this unintentional adventure. His misery didn't end with this as he had to buy a Rs 700 ticket to get back to Bhopal in addition to the loss of Rs 4,000 worth of tickets he had bought for his family's travel to Singrauli.

This incident highlights how the travellers are used to manual or no gates in Indian railways and will acclimate to the automated locks featured on the Vande Bharat trains with time.

This happening was confirmed by officials at Bhopal railway division, who underlined that there were unrestricted toilets on all platforms, eliminating the need to board a train to use the facilities.
