A Nagpur man died while having sex with his girlfriend on Sunday in what is said to be a case of Viagra overdose.
Ajay Parteki, a native of Saoner in Nagpur had checked into a lodge in the city along with his girlfriend on Sunday afternoon.
Around half an hour later Ajay reportedly collapsed and fell unconscious in the room, while having sex.
Shocked by the incident, the girl dialed their common friend, who alerted the cops.
According to the police, Ajay had no physical injuries on his body.
The man might have consumed alcohol or drugs, but the exact reason would be known after the post-mortem report arrives.
There are also reports that police found Viagra pills in his pocket and it is suspected that he might have died of an overdose.
Viagra- an accidental discovery that changed the world
Viagra used to treat erectile dysfunction in men is consumed by many as a sexual stimulant.
US pharma giant Pfizer developed it as a medication for treating heart-related chest pain in 1989 and later discovered its now-legendary potential.
It was approved for medical use in the United States and the European Union in 1998. In 2017, it became available as a generic medication after final patents by Pfizer expired.
While it is undoubtedly a magic pill, unsupervised consumption of Viagra can have some severe side effects.
This can even lead to a heart attack or a prolonged erection that lasts for hours.
Overdosing can lead to complications
Recently a newly married man from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, was hospitalised with persistent erection with progressively worsening pain after overdosing on viagra.
The 28-year-old who had gotten married some three months ago started taking viagra on the advice of a friend.
But he reportedly started taking it daily and consumed 200 mg instead of the prescribed limit of 25-30 mg.
This led to the man having an erection that lasted for days, increasing pain.
He was admitted to the MLN Medical College, Prayagraj, where doctors of the urology department diagnosed him with a condition called ¡®priapism¡¯ which is persistent erection with worsening pain.
He underwent two surgeries two months apart at the hospital to remove the erection.
While his persistent erection has been cured, the misadventure left him with a bulge on his groin that will stay with him for the rest of his life.
Doctors who performed the surgery said that the man could have a normal sex life and even have children in the future.
