During a Director¡¯s Talk event on April 15 for the new spin-off Resident Playbook, creators Shin Won Ho and Lee Min Soo spoke candidly about the future of the show and its beloved characters.

For those who don't know, Hospital Playlist follows the lives of five doctors who have been friends since medical school. The show is set in Yulje Medical Centre, where the group navigates both their personal and professional lives.

The series stars Jo Jung Suk as Lee Ik Jun, a charming and friendly general surgeon; Jeon Mi Do as Chae Song Hwa, an intimidating neurosurgeon; Jung Kyung Ho as Kim Jun Wan, a brilliant but somewhat stoic thoracic surgeon; Yoo Yeon Seok as Ahn Jeong Won¡¯s best friend and pediatric specialist; and Kim Dae Myung as Yang Seok Hyeong, a quiet obstetrician-gynecologist.

The series highlights the chaotic yet heartwarming bond these doctors share as they face the challenges of saving lives and dealing with everyday hospital drama--all while keeping their passion for music alive.

Director Shin Won Ho on Hospital Playlist Season 3

While exploring the possibility of Resident Playbook returning for a second season, director Shin Won He also touched upon the ever-emerging talks about Hospital Playlist season 3. He said, ¡°I gave a similar answer during ¡®Hospital Playlist.¡¯ It really all depends on the viewers. If we receive enough feedback, whether through numbers or overall response, we¡¯ll consider it.¡± He also added, ¡°I¡¯m still feeling the pressure about ¡®Hospital Playlist¡¯ Season 3. Both the actors and the viewers are constantly pressing me. If we do end up making it, it¡¯ll probably be because of that stress.¡±

Resident Playbook: A New Spin-off

While fans wait for news on Season 3, the new spin-off, Resident Playbook, is already here. The series focuses on a group of OB-GYN residents navigating their early careers. The show premiered on April 12 and airs every weekend. It has already made a strong impression on viewers, especially with a sweet surprise cameo in the April 13 episode. Fans were delighted when Ahn Eun Jin and Kim Dae Myung appeared as their Hospital Playlist characters, now a married couple. This cameo brought a wave of nostalgia and reignited calls for the return of the original cast.

Will Hospital Playlist return for Season 3?

Although there¡¯s no official word on Hospital Season 3 yet, the director¡¯s openness and the cast's enthusiasm keep fans hopeful. If the response to the Resident Playbook and the growing demand for a new season continue, we might just see the Yulje Medical crew back in action in the future.
