After being on the run for over a year, fugitive Nirav Modi ran out of luck earlier this week and was arrested by the Scotland Yard on Tuesday from London on the extradition plea by India.
In the past one year, Modi had reportedly tired a number of options to get away, since his crime came to the fore.
One of the options that he had tried was to get new citizenship, just like his uncle and co-accused Mehul Choksi who quite literally bought citizenship in Antigua.

Other options he tried was to get a permanent residence in Singapore or obtaining a secure shelter in a country other than the UK.
The report also added that Modi was even paling to undergo plastic surgery to change his looks.
Another report suggest that Modi had already destroyed key evidence related to his digital activities in 2017.
Servers of Modi¡¯s company Firestar Diamond Inc were shut down after an income tax search in January 2017, Hindustan Times quoting the Enforcement Directorate (ED) charge sheet reported.

Modi, the prime accused in the 13,000 crore PNB scam had fled the country last year before the investigations began and had been elusive ever since. While his uncle Choksy took refuge under new citizenship, Modi continued his hiding game, until he ran into a British journalist.
Modi who entered the UK on a business visa was picked up from a metro station Holborn, central London.
He was produced in the Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was sent to custody till March 29, when the case comes up for hearing.
