After Disha, Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants Against Nikita Jacob, Shantanu In Greta Toolkit Case

Advocate Nikita Jacob, who along with another activist Shantanu was issued a non-bailable warrant in connection with the Greta Thunberg toolkit case has moved the Bombay High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail.

The duo was issued a non-bailable warrant by a Delhi court over the toolkit that climate activist Greta Thunberg had shared online.

Jacob in her plea sought transit anticipatory bail for a period of four weeks so that she can approach the court concerned in Delhi to apply for pre-arrest bail.

The advocate in her plea said she is unaware whether she is named as an accused or witness in the case.

"However, the applicant (Jacob) fears that she may be arrested due to political vendetta and media trial," her application said.

It further said the FIR registered in the case was "false and baseless" and Jacob has already cooperated with the cyber cell of the Delhi Police and recorded her statement.

"Some entity named Legal Rights Observatory appears to have filed a false and baseless complaint with the Delhi police and seeks to pin the blame for violence on January 26, 2021 upon the applicant as well," the plea said.

According to the Delhi Police, the duo was allegedly involved in preparing the document and was in direct touch with "pro-Khalistani elements".

ANI, quoting unnamed police sources reported that MO Dhaliwal, the founder of pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation had contacted Jacob through his colleague Puneet, a Canadian citizen, to create a storm on Twitter ahead of Republic Day.

There was a zoom meeting before Republic Day which was attended by MO Dhaliwal, Jacob and Disha, among others. The motive of the meeting was to create a Twitter storm ahead of Republic Day. They also spoke about the death of a farmer.

The development comes a day after 21-year-old Disha Ravi, a Bengaluru-based activist was arrested by the Delhi Police.

She was one of the editors of 'Toolkit' document.

"Disha Ravi is an editor of the Toolkit Google Document and a key conspirator in document's formulation and dissemination. She started a WhatsApp group and collaborated to make the Toolkit doc. She worked closely with them to draft the Doc," tweeted Delhi Police.
