Patanjali's Amla Juice, Fertility Drug 'Shivlingi Beej' Fail Quality Test, Reveals RTI

The quality of products sold under Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda has once again come into question after an RTI revealed that some of its products failed lab tests.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Patanjali¡¯s Divya Amla Juice and Shivlingi Beej were among the 32 out of 82 samples collected between 2013-16 that failed to meet quality standards.
The products were found to be of 'substandard' quality by Haridwar's Ayurveda and Unani Office.

The pH value of Patanjali Divya Amla juice was found to be less than prescribed limit, according to Uttarakhand government lab report.
The RTI also indicated that 31.68% of 'foreign matter' was found in the Shivlingi Beej.

Recently the armed forces' Canteen Stores Department had stopped sales of a batch of Patanjali's amla juice after it failed a quality test carried out at West Bengal Public Health Laboratory.
Apart from Patanjali products, 18 samples of Ayurveda drugs such as Talisadya Churna, Avipattikara Churna, Pushyanuga Churna, Yograj Guggulu, Lavan Bhaskar Churna, Laksha Guggulu were also found to be substandard.
