Real Heroes! People Working At Grocery Stores And Pharmacies Are Risking Their Lives For Us

While the threat of coronavirus spread looms large, people are taking extreme precautions - quarantining themselves and avoiding social contact.

But there are people who are still out, doing their jobs selflessly - those at grocery stores and pharmacies, risking their own health by working and exposing themselves to customers during the pandemic.

These are largely hourly employees, many of whom are paid minimum wage, aren¡¯t always eligible for paid sick leave, and may not have health insurance. And while they¡¯re on the front lines, ensuring people have enough food and medicine, they are also at risk of contracting the virus.

But they are selflessly going about their jobs, ensuring we get the essential items and have everything we require during these tough times.

As health care workers to whom sick people turn for medicine, people who work in pharmacies are also especially at risk of being exposed to the coronavirus.

The grocery shop workers are also putting lives at risk by working nonstop at their stores. With people stockpiling food and supplies, the store workers are also exposing themselves to customers.

While the lucky ones like us have jobs, that enable us to work from home, others have already been laid off or sent home from the stores or restaurants they work at, unsure how they¡¯ll pay their next rent check.

But during this crisis, there are still a number of workers who are heading into work each day ¡ª the heroes of our times, those working in grocery shops and pharmacies.

They deserve our respect!
