Recently, a life coach took to Instagram to share her checklist for dating, specifically explaining why she doesn't date Indian men.

Chetna Chakravarthy, a self-described 'Relationship & Life Coach,' recently shared a video on Instagram titled "Why I Don't Date Indian Men Anymore," outlining her top reasons.
Her first reason highlights communication challenges: "They have not been taught to have difficult conversations. When they cannot argue a point they become quiet and they label the woman and they label the woman as strong-headed, argumentative and aggressive. Or then, they become egoistic and abusive."
She adds in her caption, "There is nothing an urban, educated girl of today finds sexier than communication and presence."
Her second reason addresses romance: "They think it is planning one dinner date once a month. But they don't understand romance is about tiny gestures every single day. It is about making your woman feel that she matters and like she is taken care of. So, it's not just about buying her big gifts or grand gestures."

Her third reason concerns household responsibilities, where she asserts that Indian men lack the skills to effectively manage a home.
"And no, this is not about doing 50-50 in a home or doing the chores in a home every day. It's about stepping up to take care of a home because you live in it too and not because you are doing a favour to your partner."

An Indian man wrote, "Here in India, neither parents nor schools teach young boys all the things you mentioned in the video. Most of the behavioral traits they learn come from hanging out with immature friends and consuming Bollywood films! The reason I'm well aware of the importance of these things is because my mother taught me at the right age and I read books on emotional intelligence, relationships, mindset, leadership, manners, and etiquette. All of these things play a huge role in a happy long lasting relationship!"
A woman expressed, "And what do we do for Men? Why so much expectations in a relationship. Why can¡¯t we be just us and not loose our individuality. This is clearly not love where one has to put in so much efforts for another person."
Another commenter noted, "This isn't an Indian men issue. It's a gender issue."
