SBI Takes Over Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya's Goa Villa, Staff Booted Out And Replaced With Bouncers
Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher Villa in Goa's Candolim was taken over by bankers' consortium, represented by SBICAPS. The holiday home, estimated at a worth of Rs 90 Crores.

With the villa becoming a bank property, first set of people to suffer was the resident staff. Around fifty of them including cooks, gardeners, security staff, drivers and caretakers were asked to leave on Friday.
Besides their personal belongings, said Radheshyam, the villa¡¯s staff were allowed to take away a few cars and furniture. The bank only has rights to the immovable property.
They have been now replaced by guards appointed by the bank. The team that will stand guard at the villa includes about 44 bouncers.

The villa, which was once the venue for some of the most high-profile parties hosted by Mallya was attached by bank after the district magistrate gave an order in favour of banks to take physical possession of it.

Even though the property has been attached, it is yet to been how the bank is going to capitalise on it. In the past, the Kingfisher House in Mumbai and other assets of Kingfisher including its logo and tagline which were put on auction had failed to attract any bidders.
Mallya, once called 'The King of Good Times' owes around Rs. 9,000 crores to various banks in loans.
