Change your timings of when you are outdoors. Kids should not be playing outside at any time. No morning walks, no major physical exercise. Pollution is particularly high early in the mornings, late in the evenings.

More than individuals, companies can play a bigger role in combating the issue by taking some small but significant steps like encourage staff for car-pooling, providing office and allow work from home at least one day a week.
For the long term companies should explore the possibility of switching to green energy.

The same should be practised in burning of wood, leaves and other waste while mechanism should be in place to ensure that no accidental fires happen in waste dumps.
