IPL 2025: SRH pull off 2nd-highest chase in history, leap ahead as CSK drop to last spot on points table
With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) jumped from the bottom of the IPL 2025 table to the 8th position, pushing Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) down to 9th and 10th place respectively.

After facing four consecutive losses, it seemed like this current Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team didn't have it in them to pull off the kind of wonders they did last season. Oh boy, was everyone wrong. The SRH unit roared back in style, pulling off the second-highest chase in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer looked stunned, as the electrified crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium had no intention of leaving. Abhishek Sharma's exceptional form
Abhishek Sharma's extraordinary talent was on full display. Dropped by Marcus Stoinis on 4, then caught off a no-ball at 28, and once again put down on 56 by Yuzvendra Chahal off his own bowling ¡ª the SRH opener made the PBKS bowlers pay dearly on this batting paradise. He smashed 141 runs off 55 balls which included 14 fours and 10 maximums.
Even his mentor, Yuvraj Singh, couldn't hold back his excitement as he tweeted: "Wah Sharma ji ke bete! 98 pe single, phir 99 pe single! Itni maturity humein nahi ho rahi! Great knock @IamAbhiSharma4, well played @TravisHead24 ¡ª these openers are a treat to watch together! #SRHvsPBKS @IPL Well played @ShreyasIyer15 ¡ª great to watch as well."
