Unrest Intensifies As Terrorists Burnt Down A Government School In Kashmir Ahead Of Board Exam Today
Petrol bombs were hurled at the building to set it alight. The incident comes a day after Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union Territories on October 31.
Adding to unrest in the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, a group of terrorists set ablaze a government school building in Kumdlan village in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Petrol bombs were hurled at the building to set it alight adding to the fact that normalcy seems to be distant dream in the Valley.
The incident comes a day after Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union Territories on October 31. Jammu and Kashmir ceased to be a state, three months after the Centre announced its decision to strip the state of its special status.

This is the second incident of terrorists targeting a government school in the Valley.
On October 22, Government High School in Watoo zone of Kulgam district was set ablaze.
The visuals obtained by ANI showed debris of the burnt school's roof strewn across the floor. Scorched walls and pieces of charred furniture were also seen in the visuals.

An encounter broke out inside the school where students were appearing for their board examinations. Five students were trapped inside the school when the encounter broke out between a group of terrorists and security forces.
Following the abrogation of Article 370, terrorists have been threatening the Valley residents to not cooperate with the administration as it is soon going to be bifurcated into two Union territories -- Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. The Centre has maintained that all efforts are being put towards restoring normalcy in the region.
