The Supreme Court asked the Centre to file a status report in six weeks regarding the UK proceedings pending for extradition of Vijay Mallya as per a report in PTI.
The Centre said on October 5 that Mallya cannot be extradited until a separate ¡°secret¡± legal process in UK which is ¡°judicial and confidential in nature is resolved¡±.
A bench comprising of Justices UU Lalit and Ashok Bhushan told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to produce a status report.
The hearing will be in January 2021, in the first week.
The judges did not accept advocate EC Agarwala's plea.
He has been appearing for Mallya and was wanting to be discharged from the case.
