Ticketless travel has long posed a challenge for transportation authorities, particularly the Indian Railways, leading to overcrowding and inconvenience for law-abiding passengers.
In related news, the Railway Ministry has announced plans to operate 43% more train trips this summer compared to last year. These additional trains aim to connect key destinations across the country, facilitating seamless travel on major railway routes.
Furthermore, the ministry has emphasized the importance of ensuring the availability of drinking water at railway stations during the summer season. Elaborate crowd control measures are also being implemented at major stations, with senior officers overseeing activities to regulate crowds systematically.
To address overcrowding and maintain order, the ministry has deployed RPF personnel at originating stations to manage queues for entry into general class coaches. Additionally, skilled RPF staff are monitoring CCTV control rooms to provide real-time assistance to passengers.
To prevent stampede-like situations during peak periods, the ministry has instructed the deployment of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) at foot-over bridges to regulate crowds smoothly.
