With Rotatable Chairs & Hanging LCDs, Indian Train 'Vistadome' Makes Debut On Mumbai-Goa Route
The Central Railways introduced their much-talked-aboutsee-through Vistadome coacheson Mumbai Goa route from Monday. These special coaches are air-conditioned coaches with LCDs hanging off the roof rotatable chairs special seating and glass roofs.
Indians have been pining over the European Trains forever. From movies to books, from postcard pictures to painting, if not for Eiffel Tower a lot of wanted to go to Europe just to sit in those luxury trains that have the pristine view.
But hola Indians! Indian Railways' new project will offer just the view to you, especially on your next trip from Mumbai to Goa. The Central Railways introduced their much-talked-about see-through 'Vistadome' coaches on Mumbai Goa route from Monday.

The Dadar-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express has a special coach with glass-roof Vistadome, rotatable chairs and hanging LCDs, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings.

"A Vistadome (glass-top) coach will be attached to the Jan Shatabdi Express running between Dadar and Madgaon from September 18," CR's spokesperson Sunil Udasi said, reports PTI.

"Commuters travelling on this train will have this special coach with a glass-roof Vistadome, rotatable chairs and hanging LCDs for entertainment. A unique feature of this Rs. 3.38 crore 40-seat coach is the double-wide reclining passenger seats that could be rotated 360 degrees for a better sightseeing experience," Mr Udasi added.

Bookings for the coach have opened at all computerised reservation centres and on the website as well, from today onwards. It will run three times a week during the monsoon period and over 5 times a week once the season gets over. The departure time of Jan Shatabdi Express is 5.25 am from Dadar and it reaches Madgaon at 4 pm the same day.
"There shall be no concession and all passengers will be charged at full fare. The minimum chargeable distance shall be 50 km," the official added.
