Your ID Proof Might Have Been Used To Exchange Cash Already, Banks 'Selling Them For Rs 4,000'
A huge amount of black money is being converted into white everyday
Did your bank officials tell you that your ID proof has already been used to withdraw new currency notes? If so, you have been a victim of security breach, where someone has already misused your identity proofs (including PAN/Aadhaar/voter¡¯s ID card and driving liscence, etc.) without any attestation to exchange notes.

Our correspondent's investigation into the matter reveals that several companies are allegedly using identity cards of their employees, giving these in bulk to branch managers of different private banks in order to exchange their money. The banks are changing Rs 4,000 per ID for converting black money into white each day.
A highly placed source has claimed that a huge amount of black money is being converted into white everyday.

¡°Several firms have hired agents who are contacting telecom houses and mobile phone shops for buying photocopy of IDs they get at the time of issuing new SIM cards. They are using them to convert black money into white with the help of banks,¡± some agents told Indiatimes on condition of anonymity.

Not only this, three bank officials alleged that some banks are using photocopies of the IDs, their customers had submitted at the time of opening an account.
¡°Branch managers of many private and public-sector banks are using the photocopies of the ID cards their customers had submitted at the time of opening an account to convert black money into white,¡± they added.
¡°This is going on very large scale,¡± they said, adding that ¡°crores of black money has so far been converted into white¡±.
Several photocopying outlets have run out of ink, as millions are photocopying all ID cards to find their way through the newly implemented law.

Such incidents, perhaps, have prompted the Uttar Pradesh police to issue an alert to prevent the misuse of ID proves in bank/post office deposits and exchanges.
¡°There are chances that unsigned & unremarked PAN & ID proof copy may be photocopies several times and misused by others for their purposes. While depositing or exchanging Rs 500 or Rs 1,000 in banks or post offices, kindly attest/sign the same and write a note saying ¡®I am submitting this ID proof for depositing old currency notes, so much amount...on the date... to this bank/post office¡¯,¡± wrote Rahul Srivastav, public relation officer of DGP office, UP police, in a tweet.
