Harbhajan Singh To Marry Starlet Girlfriend Geeta Basra In October

Harbhajan Singh's cricket form might have blown hot and cold but he is sure striking it well in his personal life. The India off-spinner is reportedly set to tie the knot with his starlet girlfriend Geeta Basra in October this year.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, D-day is fixed for October 29 in Hotel Club Cabana at Phagwara, 20 kms from Jalandhar, Bhajji's hometown. "We have been booked for an event. We cannot disclose anything as we have been asked to maintain confidentiality," said a senior Club Cabana official is quoted as saying by the newspaper, confirming the news.

However, according to the newspaper's source the dates could change if Harbhajan is selected for the South Africa series at home starting October. However, chances of that happening are not great as on his return to the side earlier this year on the tour to Bangladesh, Harbhajan couldn't quite press his case and even in Zimbabwe, was far from threatening.

The 35-year-old picked up just one wicket in the humiliating 63-run loss against Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle earlier in August and was left out for the second Test in Colombo.

Although the cricketer has been quite shy of spilling the beans regarding his relationship with the actress, he has often been teased by fellow cricketer friends who call Geeta as Bhabiji. That the two were going around for years was established in July when it was revealed that Harbhajan is doing a cameo in Geeta's Bollywood movie title Second Hand Husband and plays Geeta's love interest.

During the movie promotion, the 31-year-old actress is reported to have said, "Don't read so much into it. It's a fun appearance, not a wedding announcement. When I get married, I won't do it chup-chup ke. I'll announce it from the rooftops. Arrey, Punjabi ladki hoon, Punjabi shaadi karungi khoob dhoom-dhaam se."

Preparations for the big occasion have surely begun for Harbhajan and once he is back from the Sri Lanka tour, the wedding date is likely to be made public. A host of celebrities from the cricketing fraternity and tinsel town are set to be a part of the celebration making it a big fat Punjabi wedding.
