A passionate fan of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has stirred up debate with a bold statement, blaming star batter Virat Kohli for the team's inability to secure an Indian Premier League (IPL) title since the tournament's inception in 2008.
RCB, one of the original eight teams in the lucrative franchise T20 league, has yet to clinch the coveted trophy despite consistent efforts. Virat Kohli has been a stalwart of the team since the inaugural season but has faced criticism for the title drought.

Despite reaching the finals thrice in 2009, 2011, and 2016, RCB has faltered in claiming the championship. Their playoff runs in 2020, 2021, and 2022 also ended in disappointment, with the team failing to progress beyond the knockout stage.
The 2023 IPL season saw RCB's campaign end prematurely as they finished sixth in the league, missing out on the playoffs.
Facing the defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of IPL 2024, RCB suffered a setback with a loss at Chepauk. However, they rebounded in their second match against Punjab Kings, securing a four-wicket victory in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli's stellar performance, scoring 77 off 49 balls, played a pivotal role in the win, supported by Dinesh Karthik's crucial contributions.
In their third match against Kolkata Knight Riders, despite Kohli's impressive knock of 83 off 51 balls, RCB succumbed to a seven-wicket defeat. Posting a competitive total of 182/6, the hosts couldn't contain KKR's chase as they achieved the target of 183 with 3.5 overs to spare.
Currently occupying the sixth spot on the points table with 2 points from three matches, the three-time IPL finalists will look to improve their standing in their upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants in Bengaluru on April 2, Tuesday.
