India's previous Chess Olympiad feats
The Indian men's team secured a victory over Slovenia as D Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, and R Praggnanadhaa triumphed in their respective matches during the 11th and final round.
Meanwhile, the Indian women's team clinched the title with a dominant 3.5-0.5 win against Azerbaijan. This victory marks a significant achievement for both teams.
The Indian men had previously won two bronze medals, in 2014 and 2022, while the women's team had also claimed a bronze medal in the 2022 edition, which was held in Chennai.
