India on Friday improved its medal tally in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 to six after wrestler Aman Sehrawat won a bronze in the 57 kg weight category. Sehrawat's bronze is India's first medal in this Olympics from wrestling. Sehrawat won the bronze medal by defeating his Puerto Rican opponent Darian Cruz 13-5, at a time when the Indian wrestling contingent was staring at the possibility of returning empty-handed for the first time since 2008.

'I still can't believe'
An ecstatic Sehrawat said that he still couldn't believe that he had won a medal for his country.
"I am very happy, and I still can't believe that I have won a medal for the country at the Olympics... I was hoping for the gold, but I am happy with bronze as well...," Aman told ANI.
Sehrawat dedicates medal to parents, country
Sehrawat said he would dedicate the medal to his late parents and the people of the country.
"I would like to dedicate this medal to my parents and the people of India," Sehrawat told JioCinema.

The youngster has been showered with praises for giving the nation of 1.4 billion something to cheer for in an otherwise forgettable showing by Indian wrestlers at the Olympics.
