India, having won the toss and elected to bat first, posted a formidable total of 181/8 in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav was the top scorer with an impressive 53 off 28 balls, his second half-century of the tournament. Hardik Pandya provided a solid contribution with 32 off 24 deliveries, while Kohli added a crucial 24 runs and Rishabh Pant chipped in with 20.
Afghanistan's bowlers, led by Rashid Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi, who took three wickets each, managed to put up a fight. Naveen-ul-Haq also picked up one wicket, contributing to a disciplined bowling effort.
In response, Afghanistan struggled to meet the challenging target of 182 runs. They were bowled out for 134, with Azmatullah Omarzai top-scoring with 26 runs. No other Afghan batsman managed to cross the 20-run mark, as India's bowlers dominated the innings.

Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah were the pick of the bowlers for India, each claiming three wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets, while Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja each secured one wicket, ensuring a comprehensive victory for their team.
India's 47-run win against Afghanistan not only highlighted their strong all-round performance but also maintained their unbeaten record against Afghanistan in T20 World Cup history. This victory in the first Super 8 match sets a positive tone for India's campaign as they aim for the title.
