2. Faster and Even Contest

IPL is a faster tournament with very limited breathing space. Teams normally get a couple of days to recuperate. However, in the ICC tournament, the gaps between matches are huge. Another point is that IPL is more of a battle of mostly balanced teams. However, in the World Twenty20 there are eight better teams and four minnows, which make the contest less exiting.

3. More Incentive for Players

The World Twenty20 is more about national pride than cash awards. The IPL is more about incentives for better performance. With the Indian league being a cash-rich league, awards given after the match and the tournament is astounding.

4. Superior Scheduling

The World Twenty20 match scheduling is simply pathetic, while, the same is simply terrific at the IPL. The results are quite evident, the empty stadiums at the premier ICC tournament has left the organisers embarrassed. The situation is quite opposite in the Indian league. Despite being played at much bigger stadiums, most of the matches see good turnout. IPL is held in April-May, much ahead of the monsoon. World Twenty20 is being held at the fag end of monsoon, which resulted in occasional rain interruption.

Indian Premier League (IPL) is a perfect cocktail of sports and glamour. However, World Twenty20 is simply cricket, sans glitz and glamour. Not just Bollywood stars, the sexy cheerleaders make the cash rich Indian league more enticing for the fans and spectators.
