Remember the iconic 1990 movie Home Alone where young Kevin gets left alone at home, leading to hilarious antics with bumbling robbers? Well, exciting news for fans: you can now own the famous Home Alone house! That is, if you have a spare $5.25 million lying around.
Iconic Home Alone home now in a modern look
The iconic Home Alone house, located in the Chicago suburbs, is up for sale for the first time since 2012, TMZ.com reported. Earlier in 2012, the house was sold for $1.58 million, according to its Zillow page.
Refurbished and expanded in 2018, the 9000-square-foot house is now priced at $5.25 million (approximately Rs 44 crore).
The Dawn McKenna Group, a US-based real estate firm, shared a video of the fully renovated house on Instagram.
The video offers a sneak peek into the luxurious property, which features a giant basketball court, a sunroom, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a movie theatre.
The caption reads, "Ever wanted to live like Kevin McCallister? Now is your chance to fulfill your childhood dreams! The iconic Home Alone house is up for sale for $5.25 Million."
It adds, "While much of the home will look familiar, you won't believe what the sellers have done to transform this famous home, nearly doubling the livable footage and adding a state of the art sport court!"

Horrible redesign, say fans
But fans were not as delighted as expected.
One commented, "This house is beautiful and I love home alone movies but I missed the old look of the house. The old historic and the old characters of the house is gone."
Another wrote, "If I were rich, I would buy it and redo it to be an exact replica of the movie and turn it in to a museum of the film."
Someone else said, "I'm sorry but in my honest opinion whoever redesigned this classic Christmas house did it horribly."
Another added, "Trying to peddle it as the Home Alone House and it's literally been remodeled to a point it¡¯s not recognizable is hilarious."
One more critic stated, "No, it doesn¡¯t look familiar because it's been sterilised beyond recognition."
Well, I suppose for fans yearning for nostalgia, the original charm of the Home Alone house remains a cherished memory, something the modern transformation cannot replicate.
