It took place on the outskirts of Ghazni city, which is the capital of Ghazni province. This place has been witness to a lot of conflict between the Taliban and government forces.
This happened while the government and Taliban are engaged in peace talks.
"We have received 26 bodies and 17 wounded so far. All of them are security personnel," said Baz Mohammad Hemat, director of Ghazni hospital.
Nasir Ahmad Faqiri, a member of the Ghazni provincial council, made the death toll official. Interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said a suicide bomber had detonated a vehicle which carried explosives. Nobody has claimed to be responsible yet.
This happened just a couple of days after 2 bombs killed 14 people in Bamiyan.

The Pentagon said earlier in November that it would soon pull out around 2000 troops from Afghanistan. This meant it planned to do so before May 2021 which was agreed with the Taliban. The deal had been signed in February.
