Donald Trump Says India Does Not Give A 'Straight Count' On COVID-19 Deaths
US President Donald Trump has said that India does not give a "straight count" on the COVID-19 deaths. Trump also said that the pandemic was China's fault.
The first face-off in a debate between Donald Trump and challenger Joe Biden was full of personal attacks. Be it name-calling or accusations, it was a heated affair.
The main issue was the response of US to COVID. Trump did not shy away from highlighting the lives lost.
When asked about US having the most cases and deaths, Trump said India does not share accurate figures of lives lost due to the disease.
¡°India does not give a straight count on COVID-19 deaths,¡± he told debate moderator Chris Wallace.
Debate on climate change
When the topic went towards climate change, Biden promised Americans that if he came to power, he will rejoin the Paris climate change accord that Trump had withdrawn from.
¡°US is responsible for 15 per cent of the world¡¯s global warming,¡± said Biden
Trump accused India of being more to blame for global warming than USA.
¡°China sends up real dirt into the air. Russia does. India does,¡± he claimed.
No-holds-barred
Trump and Biden were at each other on the issues of COVID response, tax returns, rising unemployment, healthcare and racism.
Biden called Trump ¡°a clown¡± and said he was a ¡°puppy¡± of Russian President Vladimir Putin..
¡°Under this president, we¡¯ve become weaker, sicker, poorer, more divided, and more violent,¡± Biden said.
