The United Kingdom appears to be heading toward more political instability, less than two months after a new government assumed office.
The resignation of a high-profile member of the Liz Truss government sounds almost similar to how her predecessor Boris Johnson was forced out of office earlier this year.
Who is Suella Braverman?
British Home Secretary Suella Braverman resigned Wednesday, after being in office for just 43 days, making her stint the shortest since 1834.
Braverman, who was born to Tamil and Goan-origin parents had made an unsuccessful bid to succeed Johnson as the UK Prime Minister, after which she supported the eventual winner, Truss.
What led to Braverman's resignation?
But her short stay in office as Home Secretary ended on Wednesday following a scandal after breaching rules by sending an official document to an MP from her personal email account.
While calling it a "technical infringement" of government rules, she wrote in her resignation letter: "I have made a mistake; I accept responsibility; I resign."
Hits out at PM in resignation letter
In her resignation letter, the 42-year-old who belongs to the Conservative Party's far-right hit out at the UK Prime Minister, who is struggling to keep her government running.
She said she had ¡°concerns about the direction of this government.¡±
¡°The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes,¡± she said in the resignation letter.
"Pretending we haven't made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can't see we've made them, and hoping things will magically come right is not serious politics," she wrote further.

Replaced by Sunak loyalist
She has been replaced by former Cabinet minister Grant Shapps, a supporter of Rishi Sunak.
He admitted that Truss's government has had "a very difficult period" but that new finance minister Jeremy Hunt had done "a great job of settling the issues relating to that mini budget."
Growing troubles of UK PM
Truss who assumed office as the UK Prime Minister on September 6 has so far had a turbulent time in office.
A botched economic plan unveiled by the government last month triggered financial turmoil and a political crisis that has seen the replacement of Truss' Treasury chief, multiple policy U-turns and a breakdown of discipline in the governing Conservative Party.
Many Conservatives say Truss must resign - but she has remained defiant, saying she is ¡°a fighter and not a quitter.¡±
There are reports of the Conservative Party already looking for Truss's successor and some even want Johnson who was forced out of office back as the PM.
