Meet Deborah Szekely, a 102-year-old woman who still works at her resort
Considered one of the best health spas in North America, Rancho La Puerta in Baja California, Mexico, was founded by Szekely and her late husband, and she has worked there ever since.
What do you plan to do at the age of 102? Well, this question might sound absurd to most of us. That is because the global average human life expectancy is around 73 years. But if you ask the same question to Deborah Szekely, she will say she will continue to work. That is because the 102-year-old has been doing it at a health spa she co-founded in 1940.
No plans to retire
Considered one of the best health spas in North America, Rancho La Puerta in Baja California, Mexico, was founded by Szekely and her late husband, and she has worked there ever since. Even now, at the age of 102, Szekely works at the resort three days a week and has no plans to retire anytime soon.

Working at her resort for 63 years
Over the years, Szekely has served many different roles at the resort: chief cook, general manager, and activities director. Now, Rancho La Puerta is led by Szekely¡¯s daughter, Sarah Livia Brightwood, but the 102-year-old is still heavily involved in the resort¡¯s operations.
Speaking to CNBC recently, Szekely opened up about her practices for a happy and healthy life.
¡°When I woke up the morning I turned 100, I couldn¡¯t find anything that was different so I kept on doing the [same] thing,¡± she told CNBC. ¡°It¡¯s not a thing you do. It¡¯s a part of life, it¡¯s something you automatically know I¡¯ve got to do that. It¡¯s not an option.¡±
