Addicted to blood
A recent episode of TLC's show "My Strange Addiction" sheds light on fascinating human behaviors. One such behaviour was Michelle¡¯s blood drinking.
Michelle, a 29-year-old woman from Lancaster, California, has been consuming pig blood since her teenage years. She recently admitted to being addicted to blood and feels incomplete without it.
Michelle shared that drinking blood energizes her. She occasionally drinks it directly from a glass or incorporates it into her meals.
During her appearance on the show, she expressed that blood holds the same importance for her as water and she even mixes blood with her coffee every morning.
Additionally, she mentioned enjoying blood consumption while engaging in activities such as reading, relaxing, watching TV, or painting.
3,785 litres of blood in 10 years
Michelle distinguishes between types of blood, expressing a preference for pig's blood over cow's blood.
She clarifies, ¡°I simply enjoy drinking blood."
Michelle's addiction began during her teenage years when she struggled with depression.
While many people may find the idea repulsive, Michelle compares drinking blood to drinking wine.
"It's a similar experience," she explains.
Rather than finding the taste unpleasant, she finds it comforting. "When it goes down my throat, it's like having a cold and drinking a hot toddy."
Over the past decade, she estimates that she has consumed approximately 3,785 litres of blood.
