Worrying! USA Records 1,433 Covid-19 Deaths In Last 24 Hours With Over 7,84,000 Confirmed Cases
1433 people have died in the US coronavirus pandemic in the past 24 hours. More than 784000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of the global health crisis. The total fatalities now stand at 42138.
Last week, several top United States officials including President Donald Trump had suggested that worse was over and the country was on road to recovery and economy will reopen soon.
But if latest fatalities of 1,433 in the past 24 hours is anything to go by, then it is aspirational - the objective to get back to 'normal' looks a far distant dream. The cases are mounting, hospitals overwhelmed and healthcare workers scrapping to attend to all patients.
The US has recorded more than 784,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of the global health crisis, according to the Baltimore-based university. The total fatalities now stand at 42,138.
Some US producers, states reopened amid political pressure to restart the economy despite a nationwide concern that there is not enough testing yet to keep the coronavirus from rebounding and the country continues to reel under the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
New York is the epicenter of the US outbreak, though it seems the state may have endured the worst of the crisis.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that 478 deaths had been recorded in the previous 24 hours, the lowest total in more than two weeks.
The United States has reported the maximum number of coronavirus cases, a record that has soured its relations with not just China but also the WHO. Trump has accused the World Health Organisation of hiding the severity of the pandemic to side with China.
In the latest development, the United States will temporarily suspend immigration, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday as coronavirus cases rose to over 7 lakh with more than 42,000 deaths.
Taking to Twitter, Trump said: ¡°In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!¡±
