Caught burglar as he was leaving
According to US media reports, the incident happened at a house in Chicago's Logan Square on Thursday. The homeowner, Jason Williams, was on his way home from work on Thursday afternoon when he got an alert from his alarm system that someone had broken in.

¡°Came in the house, you know, I looked if there was an available weapon, there was a frying pan laying there,¡± Williams told local media. ¡°So, I grabbed the frying pan, and at the same time, the burglar came down the stairs.¡±
Dramatic chase caught on camera
Security camera video showed the 45-year-old homeowner chasing the man with a pan before the pair ran out of view from the camera, and loud pounding sounds could be heard. In the video, the burglar can be seen sprinting ahead of Williams around his yard, attempting to shield his head with his hands. The homeowner also seemed to have managed at least a few strikes on the burglar before he got out through the front gate and ran off.

The chase continued until the Chicago police, who were pulling up, took the suspect down across the street.
Things could have gone wrong
Recalling the dramatic incident, Williams said he was lucky to get away this time and that things could have gone in an entirely different direction.
¡°This could have had a different ending, and I¡¯m glad it had a good one. My wife¡¯s not happy about the decision I made ¡ probably wouldn¡¯t do it again, but it is what it is,¡± he said.
