Along with Wriddhiman Saha, Pujara put his head down and grafted through the first session to take the steam out of the Aussie attack. The bowlers' rhythm began to change and soon they became more defensive.
Pujara eventually reached his hundred in 521 balls. It contained 21 fours. The innings helped India take a lead in the first innings as the visitors were clearly under pressure.

He may have missed a hundred in Chennai, but this time he more than made up for it with a double ton.
The 29-year-old once again proved why he is a vital cog in the top order. So what if Kohli and Rahane failed? Pujara is there to perform the rescue act.
He finally fell for 202 and by then India well and truly ahead.
