Out-of-form opening batter Shafali Verma has been dropped as she has struggled recently, scoring just 56 runs in three innings against New Zealand and 97 runs in four games at the T20 World Cup. However, Harleen Deol has made her return to the squad. She had battled a knee injury for much of the year and is only making her first international appearance of 2024.
As for the Aussies, Alyssa Healy will miss the series due to a knee injury, while 21-year-old Georgia Voll has received her first international call-up. In the absence of Healy, Tahlia McGrath will captain the Australian team, as she did during the T20 World Cup.
